Project Overview

Modern WoodTech builds sheds, greenhouses and custom structures throughout Maine. I redesigned and developed the company's website, strengthened its Google presence, and later expanded my role into launching and leading sales for a new Mini Houses product line.

The Challenge

Modern WoodTech's website had become an outdated, text-heavy catalog that undersold the quality of its work. The challenge was to create a digital presence that positioned the company more professionally and made its premium pricing feel consistent with the quality customers were actually receiving.

Project Highlights

I rebuilt the website around strong imagery and completed projects, allowing customers to experience the craftsmanship rather than simply read about it. Today, prospective customers regularly reference specific photos and structures from the website when they call, making the site an active part of the sales process.

I also helped strengthen the company's online reputation by connecting its digital presence and encouraging customer reviews, contributing to its Google rating growing from approximately 3.2 to 4.5 stars.

Project Key Point

The relationship eventually expanded beyond the original website project. After developing a strong understanding of the company's capabilities and customer base, I launched Modern WoodTech Mini Houses, a new product line built around custom small residential and lifestyle structures.

Today, I lead the client-facing sales process for that product line. I meet with prospective customers to understand what they're trying to accomplish, translate their ideas into project specifications, develop custom visual concepts and create professional branded proposals using language and priorities specific to each client.

I then manage communication, revisions and follow-up throughout the sales process, connecting the digital experience that generates the lead with the personal experience that ultimately closes the sale.

Conclusion

My work with Modern WoodTech demonstrates how strategic presentation can change the way customers perceive an existing product.

Rather than trying to make a lower-cost product appear expensive, the goal was the opposite: give a genuinely high-quality product a brand and digital experience that accurately communicates its value.

What began as a website redesign ultimately developed into an ongoing business relationship spanning digital strategy, customer experience, new product development and direct sales. It has given me the opportunity to see the entire customer journey, from the photograph that first catches someone's attention to the conversation, proposal and decision that turns that interest into a sale.
